The Roads of Life

Life is absolutely a road. You have to bear in mind that there are long and short roads; even and rocky roads; curved and straight. In our life numerous roads would come our way as we drive through life. There are roads that lead to a life of lone sanctity, matrimony, and sacred vocation. There are also roads that lead to fame, on one hand, or remoteness and shortage on the other. Also, there are roads to contentment as there are roads to sorrow, roads towards conquest and elation, and roads leading to crush and distress.

Just like any road, there are bends, diversions, and intersections in life. Maybe the most confusing road that you would come across is a crossroad. With four roads to decide from and with restricted knowledge on where they would go, which road will you take? What is the assurance that we would select the right one along the way? Would you take any road, or just hang about where you are: in front of it?

There are no guarantees really. You do not truly know where a road will lead you until you take it. This is one of the most significant things you need to realize about life. No one said that selecting to do the right thing all the time would always lead you to delight. Loving someone with all your heart does not assure that it would be returned. Getting fame does not guarantee real happiness. Accepting a good word from a powerful superior to cut your trip short up the career ladder is not always dire, especially if you are highly capable and knowledgeable. There are too many possible results which your really cannot control. The mere thing you have power over is the decisions that you will make, and how you would act and act in response to different situations.

So, you can take the first pace on a journey of discovery that will change your life right here, right now. In doing so, you will understand that doing always the right thing is not a matter of luck, and see results, it is simply a matter of your choice.
